Jobs and Careers Fairs
Blue Mackerel attended two jobs and careers fairs hosted by Wellington and South Gippsland Shire Councils in Sale and Leongatha during April and May. These events provided a strong opportunity to connect with local students, job seekers and career changers, and to share insights into the skills and opportunities emerging in the offshore wind sector.
South Gippsland Bass Coast & East Gippsland
VicLLENs seek to help bridge the gap between education and employment by connecting schools, industry, and community. The Blue Mackerel team attended two LLEN events in April and May. One in Korumburra and the second in Bairnsdale catching up with more than 150 high school children supporting their pathways from school to future careers.
Deadly in Gippsland (DiG) First Nations Business Expo
Some of the Blue Mackerel team attended Deadly in Gippsland First Nations Business Expo, hosted by the Gunaikurnai Land and Waters Aboriginal Corporation (GLaWAC). Face-to-face conversations are where the real connection happens.
We chatted with a number of local First Nations businesses and organisations working in aligned areas across Gippsland and left with brochures and business cards for future follow up. We’d like to congratulate GLaWAC for delivering a great event, and we thank them for the opportunity to be part of it.
